Q. When and why did you start playing?
A. I started to play Guitar at 11years old, because I loved the sound
Q. Which instruments do you play?
A. Drums & Guitar
Q. What was the first tune(s) you learned?
A. I taught myself listening to a Shadows LP I was lent, until I could play the Whole Album.
Q. Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?
A. Steve Vai-David Gilmour- Bryan May-Jimi Hendrix-Hank Marvin: Because they inspire me!
Q. Who was your first teacher? Other teachers?
A. I am completely self-taught
Q. Describe your first instrument, other instruments.
A. My first was an Acoustic, but To Me the Guitar & Drums are the most expressive instruments!
Q. What are your fondest musical memories? In your house? In your neighborhood or town?
A. Walking back to School music at the beginning was a complete jumble, but that day everything fell into place & I was able to write music in my head! (Fantastic)
Q. Were you influenced by old records & tapes? Which ones?
A. Shadows LP, I am unsure of the title, probably their greatest hit’s
Q. Who are your favourite musicians? Groups? CD’s?
A. Steve Vai-David Gilmour- Bryan May-Jimi Hendrix-Hank Marvin – Iron Maiden-Queen-The Police-The Darkness-Foo Fighters-Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Q. Have you been in competitions? Fleadh’s? Any prizes?
A. A Few years back I came 3rd in Guitar Heroes competition-(Playing real Guitar) not the game!!!
Q. Do you perform in public? Describe those occasions? Concerts, radio, TV?
A. I have had 3 tracks played on BBC Lincolnshire introducing this year.
Q. How do you handle mistakes during a performance?
A. Don’t make a big thing about it, it’s all Rock ‘n’ Roll
Q. Do you get nervous before a performance or a competition?
A. Hell Yeah, but I think that’s because I’m a Human “ARRRR”
Q. What advice would you give to beginners who are nervous?
A. Be a Human “ARRRR”
Q. How often and for how long do you practice?
A. Every day as much as possible (But I think I’m obsessed) love it though!!
Q. What do you practice – exercises, new tunes, hard tunes, etc.?
A. Scales & Stretching, but that’s boring, playing Guitar to anything that comes on the TV is great for keeping perfect Pitch, Drums, constantly trying to play faster-with more ease!
Q. How do you balance your music with other obligations – Wife, children, job?
A. If I have had a busy day I will often play into the wee hours as it helps me unwind, (there’s that Obsession again) Ouch!!
